General Contract Questions

If a recruiter would like to  email or call to request my services, time can be saved by providing the information shown below.  I am looking for an interesting, well paid positions, at a location that is desirable to me. The questions below are my quite typical.

1) Description of the contract position, absolute minimum requirements and preferences. This may include such subjects as Patran, Nastran, Classic Hand stress analysis, Fatigue analysis, certification etc. We should ensure I fit the client requirements.

2) Location of the contract. A number of agents will not initially provide the client, but the location (city) is a must.

3) Contract Rate $ per hr and pay period frequency, plus length of contract.

4) Is the client requesting overtime and at what rate x1.0 or x1.5.

5) Is the agency willing to provide a perdiem split and what is the perdiem rate?

6) Provide a preliminary desired start date. In most cases the agency is looking for people that are unemployed so they can start immediately. Unfortunately those of us that are good at our job are rarely unemployed. We have to give notice to our present employer. A new employer should respect this.

7) Will the client pay for travel at the start and completion of the contract, if appropriate.

8) Is the agency offering any paid vacation and/or bonus at six or twelve month intervals.

Basic information is required to make a decisive decision. My primary interest is to work with well informed recruiters that are honest and willing to spend some time discussing the potential opportunities.
